E46 Rear Subframe Reinforcement Plates
E46 Rear Subframe Reinforcement Plates
The solution for the cracking rear subframe attachment points on all E46 chassis'. These are designed to be welded on, we don't believe in the epoxy method. In our opinion, these are the best option on the market. We also believe worn/soft subframe bushings are a significant contributing factor in allowing the rear subframe to rock back and forth relative to the chassis, over-stressing the attachment points and causing them to crack/tear. Also closely look at the spot welded seam where the driver side wheel well arch meets the underside of the chassis, popped spot welds are very common there and will need additional repair(welding). We strongly recommend replacing your rear subframe bushings as part of a comprehensive repair of this area, as well as differential bushings. Please contact us if you're interested in having us do this repair in-house.
